New Feature Documentary ‘Riot From Wrong’ Tackles Views about the London Riots

London based youth media organisation, Fully Focused Community have produced a feature length doumentary 'Riot from Wrong' which takes a look at the deeper than the actions of those that rioted and in doing so it goes right to the heart of the issues affecting our society. The aim of the documentary and the journey was to investigate sustainable solutions for measurable change. Riot from Wrong covers a range of perspectives; there is touching dialogue from the family of Mark Duggan and victims of the unrest, people who feel overlooked and misrepresented by mainstram media, those who looted, the Metropolitan Police, young people across the country and community activists. These viewpoints intertwine the perspectives of QC Michael Mansfield, Journalist Polly Toynbee and MP David Lammie amongst many others. This provides a unique and unbiased account of the biggest incident of civil unrest in modern British history. This unparalleled access and vast array of voices is the upshot of 45 hours of footage, 60 interviews and over 200 hours of editing.

Teddy Nygh, Co-founder of Fully Focused Productions/Community and Director of 'Riot From Wrong' comments “The aim was to simply provide a platform for the voices we do not often hear in the mainstream media, while striving to maintain a balance of opinions across multiple demographics. The young people I work with are on a mission to investigate ways of preventing a recurrence of the unrest that directly devastated their very own communities. This documentary highlights some of the many positive contributions young people across England make to society and the inevitable fact that they are indeed, the future”.

The documentary will be premiered at the East End Film Festival on July 5th 2012 (from 6.30pm). For more information and to book tickets, click here.
