ITV2 has commissioned Talkback to make a satirical late night comedy series in the style of The 11 O’Clock Show. Written by a cast of stand-up comedians and sketch groups, @elevenish will air at around 11pm on Thursday evenings and profile up and coming comics from around the country. Comedians Bobby Mair, Dane Baptiste, Natasia Demetriou, Rhys James and Lolly Adefope have already been confirmed as part of the line-up.

Talkback will hope they can recreate the success of C4’s The 11 O’Clock Show, which launched the careers of comedians including Ricky Gervais, Sacha Baron Cohen and Mackenzie Crook when it aired between 1998 and 2000.

The satirical show will see comedians responding to topical events, writing and producing content until the day of transmission as they examine what people have been sharing, posting and debating on social media during the week. @elevenish will be executive produced by Jamie Rea and Talkback managing director Leon Wilson while Juliet Morrish will produce and Tommy Forbes will direct. It was commissioned by ITV director of digital platforms Angela Jain and comedy and entertainment commissioning editor Clare Zolkwer.

Wilson said: “Talkback prides itself on discovering new talent so we’re really excited to offer this platform to the next generation of comedians. The idea behind @elevenish is to create a programme to compliment the immediacy of the internet – where a story can break and go global within minutes.”

Zolkwer added: “@elevenish gives a unique opportunity for new comedy talent to reach and ITV2 audience and we look forward to welcoming them.”

@elevenish starts 17th March on ITV2…at 11pm.
