Sky News is launching a new, no-nonsense, straight-talking debate show alled The Pledge. All the participants are committed to speaking freely, honestly and passionately about the subjects they – and you – care about. The programme will be entirely unmoderated – there is no conventional presenter.

Each week five panellists, from a pool of nine, will appear on the show each raising an issue that will be thrashed out among the group. Panellists include novelist Rachel Johnson, former-footballer Graeme Le Saux, entrepreneur Lady Michelle Mone, TV presenter and political campaigner June Sarpong, entrepreneur James Caan, journalist Emma Barnett, business consultant Michelle Dewberry, FA chairman Greg Dyke and LBC Radio host Nick Ferrari.

The programme will also feature a musical mash-up of a news story or person who is currently in the news.

Sky News' Director of Content John McAndrew said: "This is something really different for a TV news channel – it's upbeat, spiky and very entertaining…Straight-talking, opinionated contributors, no conventional host. We are really excited."

The Pledge will air every Thursday at 8pm from 21 April on Sky News.
