Prince William is backing a new campaign to support young people from all backgrounds to enter the film, television and games industries. The Duke of Cambridge will attend the launch of Bafta’s Give Something Back campaign – a scheme that calls on members, awards winners and industry organisations to contribute towards its charitable activities including mentoring, scholarships, guest lectures and summer work placements.

During his visit to Bafta’s London headquarters on 18 November, the prince will give a speech and meet secondary school students taking part in a games design workshop.

“We look forward to welcoming our president, HRH The Duke of Cambridge, for the launch of ‘Give Something Back’, said John Willis, chairman of Bafta. “The Duke is a generous supporter of Bafta’s work to enable talented young people, regardless of background, to succeed in our industries. This includes giving his name to the Prince William Scholarships in Film, Television and Games, supported by Bafta and Warner Bros, which were awarded for the first time earlier this year.”
