In the lead up to the Screen Nation Digital-iS Media Awards on 20th December, we'll be profiling all of the nominees. Check out who's up for the Favourite Short Film below. 

Blighty – Daniel Rusteau

Written and directed by Daniel Rusteau and hosted on the BWNG TV network, Blighty sees Mike and his girlfirend (and her BFF) have a very awkward conversation. 

 

FHPC (Fair Honest Positive Creative) – Mark One/George The Poet

FHPC is a universal acronym for FAIR HONEST POSITIVE CREATIVE. Its creation intention is to be globally shared, helping humans move away from the paradigm of compete and consume, and move toward the paradigm of cooperate and conserve to accelerate the movement towards a better people and planet. 

 

Hidden – Quason Matthews 

A young woman is on her way home when she encounters a peculiar stranger. Written by Lauren Cato. 
 

 

Oya: Rise Of The Orisha – Nosa Igbinedion

The worlds first African superhero movie. This short movie introduces Oya Rise of the Orixas, a trans-media project that features film and comic books. It is inspired by the anceint african deities known as Orixa and traditions of Yoruba people as well as Candomble, Santeria and Umbanda among others.

Disconnected from the natural essence of Orixa. Fuelled by hate, war and destruction. This world teeters on chaos. This world needs change. This world needs Oya: Orixa of the hurricane, goddess of the wind. Step into her world, as Oya goes on a mission to stop a lunatic, intent on killing an innocent. If change is to come. Evil must be defeated. The Orixa must rise.

 

Prey – Sunny King

In this Alfred Hitchcock inspired film filled with suspense and horror, a young woman is stalked by a psychopath in a car park after a night out. The film features Africa and Britian's brightest stars Weruche Opia, OC Ukeje, Steve Mace , Yvonne Hays and Azizat Saadiq. Prey is directed and executive produced by Sunny King, written and co-produced by Edith Nwekenta, produced by Stefano Moses and executive produced by Luti Fagbenle. Something Sentimental – Olan Collardy/Ola Masha 

Do you ever wonder; when a relationship is over, could you ever find another like it? Something Sentimental is the creation of Olan Collardy and Ola Masha and is produced by Waiki Harnais.
