The Screen Nation Awards are back on Saturday 19th March for the 11th year. In the lead up, we'll be highlighting those up for the awards. Next up are the nominees for Rising Star

Cherrelle Skeete – Danny and the Human Zoo

Cherrelle was born and raised in Birmingham. She graduated from the Central School of Speech & Drama in 2011 with a BA (Hons) in Acting, specialising in Collaborative and Devised Theatre and trained under the direction of Complicite Associate, Catherine Alexander. Her screen debut was in series four of BBC period drama Call the Midwife playing 'Abigail Bissette'. Later that year she played 'Viv' in the hit BBC drama Ordinary Lies.

Cherrelle played 'Dee Dee Fearon', a police officer and sister to 'Danny' (Kascion Franklin) in BBC One's television film Danny and The Human Zoo, a fictionalised account of Lenny Henry's rise to fame as a teen in the 70's, which was directed by BAFTA break-through Destiny Ekaragha and written by Lenny Henry himself. Cherrelle then returned to the National Theatre last July to play 'Katya' in Three Days in The Country, an adaptation of Ivan Turgenev's passionate, moving comedy A Month in The Country by Patrick Marber.

Eleanor Fanyinka – Holby City

Eleanor is from Oxford originally but moved to London to attend LAMDA, graduating in 2009. She had an auspicious stage debut appearing at a tribute to Harold Pinter at the National Theatre in the company of several British acting legends including Jeremy Irons, Colin Firth, Jude Law, Penelope Wilton and Eileen Atkins. Since then she has appeared in The Comedy of Errors at the Royal Exchange in Manchester, the 24 Hour Plays at the Old Vic and at The Finborough Theatre as 'Amiga Gringa' in In the Blood, a role which received wide critical acclaim. She appeared in her first feature film Art Is… alongside Paul McGann and Gary Kemp in 2013 and joind the cast of BBC One drama Holby City in 2015. 

Franz Drameh – Legacy, River, The Flash, Residue

Franz Alhusaine Drameh (born 5 January 1993) is a Gambian British actor. His film debut was in Clint Eastwood's fantasy drama Hereafter. He also appeared in British film Attack the Block and the 2014 blockbuster Edge of Tomorrow. He stars as 'Jefferson "Jax" Jackson' in The CW television series The Flash and in its spinoff Legends of Tomorrow.

Joivan Wade – Dr Who, The Interceptor, various

Joivan is an English actor who first appeared in the BBC comedy Big School before starring in teen drama Youngers E4. He is a YouTube sensation with the hit online comedy series Mandem On The Wall and appeared in the Doctor Who as 'Rigsy', a young graffiti artist who helped save the world. This year, Wade joined the cast of BBC soap opera EastEnders 'Jordan Johnson'.

Malachi Kirby – Jekyll & Hyde, Dough, My Murder 

Malachi was born on September 20 1989 in England. He is an actor known for roles in Gone Too FarMy Murder alongside John Boyega and My Brother the Devil. Malachi will star in the remake of Roots, which is scheduled to air 30th May on History. 

Mckell David – Urban Hymn, Legacy

McKell is an actor well known for roles in Montana, My Brother the Devil, Our Girl alongside Lacey Turner and British movie Legacy, which was released in 2015.
