Who doesn’t love a great story? Drama is one of the cornerstones of a vibrant broadcasting schedule, and British TV drama is in rude health at the moment. In the past year we have seen successes as diverse as Downton Abbey, Call The Midwife, Top Boy, Appropriate Adult, The Crimson Petal and the White, The Promise, Scott & Bailey, Misfits and many more – not forgetting our enduringly-popular soaps that provide millions with a regular dose of drama.
If you’re a budding drama producer, writer, director or anything else behind the camera in this creative and competitive genre, how do you really succeed in turning words on a page into a fully realised, engaging story on screen? And what advice do seasoned pros have to offer you, the next generation of programme-makers in this field?
This latest in the series of RTS Futures Speed Date events focuses on Drama programming. Ticket-holders will have the chance to ‘speed-date’ a roster of top TV talent working across the genre. Each expert is ready and waiting to offer up valuable advice, whether I’s tips on writing the perfect CV; advice on presenting; or tips on finding and bringing home the big stories – this is the event that gives you the chance to get some answers. You'll have to talk fast though, as you only have three minutes to impress them and find out what you need.
Join us for an evening of unprecedented networking opportunities, intimate tête à têtes with the most knowledgeable folk in the world of television drama and a couple of free drinks to boot. For any of you keen to get ahead, this is one event not to be missed!
