Former X Factor star Rachel Adedeji has joined the cast of Hollyoaks – and she'll be arriving with a bang.
The actress and singer has landed the role of the real Lisa Loveday and has already started filming at the show's set in Liverpool. Hollyoaks fans have already been introduced to Sonia Albright – an impostor who is pretending to be Lisa. But if you thought Sonia was troublesome, wait until you see what the real Lisa has in store for the village.
Billed as a loud and brassy party animal, Lisa will cause a huge stir as she reunites with her loved ones for the first time in 14 years. Lisa is on a mission to claim back the family that is rightfully hers, but she'll also make a big impact elsewhere as her name ends up on everyone's lips in Hollyoaks.
Speaking of her new role, Adedeji commented: "I am so excited to have joined Hollyoaks and be part of the Loveday family, who are brilliant actors and already feel like an extension of my own family! It is quite a pressure to be coming in as the real Lisa Loveday as she is such an anticipated arrival in Hollyoaks village. I think it's fair to say that the audience have hoped that we would at some point get to meet the real Lisa, and although I can't say too much, the fallout is big and far-reaching. What has happened to Lisa so far in her life has turned her into a tough cookie and it has been great to bring that to life on screen."
Regular viewers know that Lisa was abducted from her school playground when she was just a child, leaving her parents Louis and Simone devastated. The couple currently have no idea that the 'Lisa' currently living under their roof is a fraud, but the truth comes out in a few weeks' time when they catch Sonia getting steamy on the sofa at home with her supposed 'brother' Zack.
Rachel's first scenes will air in April but have a watch of the new Hollyoaks Spring trailer above for a sneak peek.
