The winners of the 2nd Screen Nation Digital-iS Media Awards sponsored by The May Fair Hotel (@TheMayFairHotel) and supported by Scene TV (@Scene_TV), AfricaX5 (@AfricaX5) and Modern Communications (@ModernCommsUK) were announced at The May Fair Hotel on Sunday 20th December. The awards celebrated the very best in online content produced by black British digital media creatives across short film, web series, music promos, blogs, magazines, performance and more. Gifting partners included ORS Europe, Blk, Vita Coco, Nu People Magazine, Iroko and Pop Chips
Presented by the vivacious award winning Liverpudlian actress/presenter Adi Alfa (@MIss_Alfa86) and the hilarious comic online star Reuben Christian (@ReubenChristian), the fun filled ceremony saw a host of recognisable faces from the online space grace the stage, while guest presenters included funny man Eddie Kadi, ex MTV head honcho Jasmine Dotiwala, stars of hit C4 hit show Chewing Gum, Michaela Coel and Susan Wokoma rising Hollywood actor David Ajala, luxury designer Alexander Amosu, the comic stars behind Youtube sensations Man Dem on the Wall and Ruth Amarquaye, Executive Assistant to Baroness Lawrence and founder & CEO of Wekumei. Surprise musical performers on the night included former Screen Nation award winning soul star Keisha White and Ashley Abigo, the young singer songwriter tipped for the very top. Honorary Digital Vanguard Awards were presented to Cecile Emeke one of the UK’s most exciting young online creatives and director of the Strolling series, Tolulope ‘T-Boy’ Ogunmefun aka Don’t Jealous Me, online comic genius and a final special Digital Achievement Award to stunning Beauty/lifestyle vlogger Shirley B. Eniang.
These awards celebrate young digital titans who have blazed a trail and proven that there are great opportunities in the digital domain. Their outstanding successes summed up the evening and act as a beacon to those many creatives that are making their way in the digital space. Screen Nation CEO Charles Thompson MBE said:
