Channel 4 Launches Graduate Scheme for Future Leaders

Channel 4 have announced  the Channel 4 Graduate Programme, which will offer graduate students hands on experience at the centre of the organisation whilst bolstering their CV with a Skillset Creative Media Leadership MA. The pilot programme opens for applicants in July 2012.

Three successful applicants will work within either the channel's Marketing & Communications department or Audience Technologies & Insight department for 20 months, gaining valuable experience within these business areas as well as a wider view of Channel 4 and the UK media industry.

In addition, successful applicants will have the opportunity to earn a post graduate qualification from Skillset in Creative Media Leadership, this will include modules in Media Strategy and Intellectual Property and Monetisation. To fulfil the MA, participants will complete a live Channel 4 project within their department.

Each Graduate will be assigned a member of the Channel 4 Executive team as a mentor who will guide them through the programme and further development their leadership qualities. Coaching will be provided by Rosie Ranganathan, Head of HR.

The Graduate Programme supports Channel 4's commitment to pushing the UK media industry to the forefront of the global industry by nurturing the leaders of tomorrow, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and experience for success.

Channel 4 is committed to diversity of supply and as well as arming graduates with the tools needed to succeed in the media industry the programme will provide Channel 4 with fresh ideas from the rising stars of the television industry.

The Graduate Programme compliments Channel 4's existing schemes which include apprenticeships, internships, the Production Trainee Scheme and the Investigative Journalism Scheme.
