Broadcaster, director and writer Reggie Yates introduces a new 4K restoration of Mathieu Kassovitz's La Haine. Shot in black and white and loosely based on real events, it focuses on three friends over the course of a day in the housing projects of suburban Paris in the aftermath of a riot. With tension in the air and the police in constant surveillance, this dramatic insight into a microcosm of French society depicts how quickly hostility can turn to violence and the dangers of treating people based on prejudice rather than as people.
