Female Fitness Website ‘Spikes and Heels’ Picked Up by Trace Sports TV for New TV Show

Last year, London-based blogger Bangs & A Bun (real name Muireann Carey-Campbell) launched a female fitness website to aid her mission of empowering women through exercise and fitness. Spikes and Heels was born and has been going from strength to strength – so much so that Trace Sports TV has turned it into a new television programme.

Hosted by Bangs and Team GB 100m sprinter Jeanette Kwakye, the magazine-style show to be broadcast on Sky Channel 442,  will include an exercise section, fitness app reviews, style, interviews with pro athletes, a look at home workout equipment, some super awesome street athletes and much more.

Bangs says:

“Spikes & Heels is for badass women who train hard, but one of my major goals with the site and everything I try to do around it, is simply to get women moving. We have dangerous levels of inactivity in this country and I think there just aren’t enough examples of women (cool women especially) out there doing it. Part of the issue is visibility. If we can have more examples of women being awesome and active and living normal, great lives in magazines, on screen, online, wherever, surely that will inspire more women to lace up their trainers and get moving in some way. Or at least, I hope. This is why I’m super excited about Spikes & Heels making it to TV screens. If it inspires you to move, job done.”
