In the lead up to the Screen Nation Digital-iS Media Awards on 20th December, we'll be profiling all of the nominees. In this feature, check out the nominees for the Favourite Arts/Entertainment Magazine. 

Cozy-Mag

COZYMAG is an online magazine that focuses on four main topics, music, fashion, lifestyle and art/culture. The mag aims to bring a more personal perspective to the already extensive commentary on such topics, and shed new light on undiscovered talent that may not be receiving the attention of more mainstream publications. COZYMAG also intends to inspire readers to try new things and broaden their cultural horizons, be it by trying a new restaurant, visiting an art exhibition or listening to an artist they didn’t know of beforehand.

The:nublk is a platform which showcases the work of contemporary creatives and content with a focus on Africa and the Diaspora. The site has also established itself offline by participating in and curating a number of engaging creative experiences in the UK and internationally including exhibitions, social events, film screenings and talks. Now in its 7th year, The:nublk continues to engage its audience through curated and created content by informing, educating and connecting them to the often untold and inspiring stories of creatives from Africa, The Caribbean and the Diaspora.

Media Diversified is a young and growing non-profit organisation which seeks to cultivate and promote skilled writers of colour by providing advice and contacts and by promoting content online through its own platform. Live since July 2013, the initiative is already diversifying the UK’s media landscape, providing important, challenging and new content which contributes to global as well as domestic discussion on issues of social justice and equality. In March 2015 media Diversified launched its Expert Directory, a searchable resource for Media organisations of all sizes to subscribe to.

The TV Collective is an online resource dedicated to promoting the creative and commercial value diversity adds to the British TV and film industries. The TVC is a central hub sharing the latest industry news, recruitment, commissioning, funding, development opportunities and initiatives aimed at promoting diverse talent and their content; and with their bi-weekly newsletter, they are in regular contact with over 10,000 media creatives worldwide.The TVC community consists of an eclectic mix of maverick media professionals whose creativity has been informed by the richness of diverse experiences and backgrounds. From new entrants to execs and managing directors The TVC are all eager and committed to contributing to an industry that truly reflects 21st century Britain.

Black cultural and popular references are now embedded into British societal fabric and this rich diversified treasure has been overlooked in terms of collating and documenting this vast knowledge. The British Blacklist was created to address this oversight. The website offers reviews, news and analysis to a wide audience and strives to bring a voice to burgeoning talent which wouldn’t otherwise receive visibility.
