The 2014 Screen Nation Awards take place on Sunday 23rd February with a whole host of British and international stars up for awards. Let's take a look at the nominees for Favourite Female TV Star – be sure to click here to cast your votes. 

Blackburn born AJ Odudu began her career as a reporter for BBC Blast based at Radio Lancashire. She starred as herself in Comedy Lab in 2011 and co-presented Sky Arts' coverage of the Isle of Wight Festival 2012. She may be most recognisable for presenting Big Brother's Bit on the Side with Rylan Clark and Emma Willis and then Celebrity Big Brother's Bit on the Psych in 2013.

Alesha Dixon regularly graces our screens as a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent but is also known for her success in music group Mis-Teeq, a Brit nominated solo artist and the winner of Strictly Come Dancing in 2007. Former presenting roles include a judge on Strictly Come Dancing and Your Face Sounds Familiar alongside Paddy McGuinness.

 

Chizzy Akudola is a British actress who has been in a variety of programmes including Eastenders, Green Wing, Dead Set, Hollyoaks Later and CBBC show Jinx. Most recently, viewers can see her play Mo Effanga in BBC drama Holby City. Acting is not the string she has to her bow; in 2013, Chizzy also wrote and produced two short films  Life's a Bitch and 5 Minutes.

 

Natalie Gumede  is best known for playing Kirsty Soames in the ITV soap Coronation Street.  For her portrayal of the character, Gumede had received the Best Newcomer accolade at the 2012 British Soap Awards. She was later nominated for Best Soap Newcomer at the TV Choice Awards and voted Most Popular Newcomer during the 18th National Television Awards. More recently, the talented actress turned her hand to dance and was a runner-up in the 2013 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

 

Zawe Ashton is an actress and playwright known for playing Vod in Channel 4’s Fresh Meat, Imani in the stage production of Gone Too Far!, Bianca in St. Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold and the lead in the award winning drama-documentary Dreams of a Life. Other theatre credits include RhinocerosThe Arsonists, Othello (Globe Theatre), Frontline (Globe Theatre), and This Wide Night (Soho Theatre).
