On 28th September, SceneTV attended the Creative Industries Federation Diversity Report launch in association with the MOBO Awards. In attendance was David Oyelow, Brit film, television and theatre actor and star of the civil-rights film 'Selma'. Watch the video above as he passionately talks about the lack of diversity in the U.K., his experience of having to go to the states for his career to progress and why he believes the industry needs diverse curators of culture in order for real change to take place.

It argues that while diversity has been long seen as a matter of social justice, there is a hard-headed business case for tackling the failure to capitalise on the full range of talent available to ensure that the creative industries remain the fastest-growing part of the UK economy. It provides a compendium of best practice by forward-looking organisations and businesses that have already acted to improve the diversity of their staff and includes case studies to show how everyone can make a difference (via Diversity UK). The launch also kicked off the MOBO 'Rise With Us' Season – a series of events celebrating black creative culture and talent.
