Back in May, I caught up with Asha Kamali May, Dana Gills and Jeanette McDuffie, also known as production outfit Brown Paper Dolls, to discuss their debut project 'Milk + Honey'. You can read the interview here. Executive produced by the UK's very own Idris Elba, 'Milk + Honey' is a dramedy series that follows the spiritual, professional and romantic journeys of four young, ambitious African-American women navigating through the lights, smoke and mirrors of Hollywood. Asha Kamali May stars alongside Lance Gross, Debbie Allen, Bryce Wilson, Yaani King, Shauntay Hinton, Rob Smith, Faune Chambers and Charles Divins,
I was so excited to hear the news that the first episode has now gone live online. Check out the first episode above and below, see Idris, Asha, Dana and Jeanette talk a little bit more about the project.
SceneTV would like to congratulate everyone involved on the debut and we look forward to seeing (and posting!) many more episodes. This is a great example of people taking control of their own creativty and not waiting for opportunities to come knocking. Love. Dreams. Go!
