Second Star is taking the heat out of hunting for a flatmate with a TX pilot commissioned by E4 which will see Charlie Sloth pick the perfect person to move in to a house share.

Nine million people across the UK rent and with 50% of young people renting as opposed to buying. Property… Boom! (working title) is the property show for tenants not buyers. Radio 1 and 1Xtra presenter (and self-professed ‘best looking fat man in the universe’), Sloth will use his extensive property knowledge to show that renters can live the property dream and snag a great pad without having to buy.

Charlie said; “There’s nothing worse than living with a flatmate that you have nothing in common with. There’s a secret to finding the perfect housemate… and maybe it’s rap ohhhh goossshh!”

Sloth knows a good property deal when he sees one and after sussing out a local area he will help renters fill their spare room with a brand new flatmate. To do that he will use the power of song, creating bespoke hip hop adverts to find the perfect flatmate. But who will be the best fit?

C4 Entertainment Commissioner Sarah Lazenby, said; “Charlie is a genuine force of nature and this format seamlessly combines his expertise in both hip hop and property to bring us a bold new show.”

Second Star Chief Creative Operator Deborah Sargeant, added: “We’ve all heard the horror stories that can come with picking the wrong flatmate – the ones who seem normal then, after moving in, refuse to do the washing up and parade around in their pants. No-one wants to risk being the one that picked that guy so we’re thrilled Charlie will be the one weeding out the weird from the wicked, making it his mission to find the perfect flatmate.”
