In the run up to the 9th Screen Nation Awards, SceneTV will be featuring all of the nominees in the public voting categories. Next up is Nollywood Movies who are up for the Favourite Black Channel award.
Nollywood Movies is a subscription movie television channel broadcast in the UK on Sky channel 329. Each month the channel offers over 30 different new and recently released Nigerian movies, 24-hours-a-day. This was the first channel of it's kind to come to the UK and has been a go-to for Nollywood fans in search for drama, comedy, romance, thrillers, fantasy and true stories. Viewers can tune in for daily 7pm movie premieres and see some of the leaders of African cinema grace their screens. The channel also works in partnership with other media, entertainment and lifestyle organisations to bring Nollywood premieres to the UK on a large scale. March sees the arrival of Lekki Wives – one of the most talked about television programmes in Nigeria. Written, produced, and directed by Blessing Egbe, Lekki Wives is a drama series following the lives and conditions of five women living, visiting and working in highbrow Lekki axis of Lagos – see the promo below.
